The Rotary Club of Edgewater has a new service project underway to honor our nation's veterans, and they need your help.

Led by Rotarian Steve McGee (CDR Ret.), the club is creating custom walking canes for veterans at no cost to recipients. Each cane is handcrafted using donated pool cues and features a 3D-printed handle displaying the emblem of one of the six branches of the United States Armed Forces.

The project is off to a strong start, with approximately 15 canes already completed and more than 90 service-specific handles ready to be assembled. The biggest need right now is additional pool cues.

What they need:
- Usable pool cues from pool halls, sports bars, game rooms, thrift stores, or individual donors
- Pool cues that provide at least 32 to 38 inches of usable shaft length (from the top of the cue to the tapered end)
- Financial donations to help offset the costs of producing the canes

The canes are being produced in multiple lengths to accommodate veterans of different heights, ensuring a comfortable and personalized fit.

Whether you can donate pool cues, provide financial assistance, or help spread the word, your support will help place these unique canes into the hands of deserving veterans.

Most importantly, every veteran receives their cane free of charge.
