Texas Flooding Disaster Relief

Devastating floods have brought disaster to South Central Texas in the area of Kerrville (Rotary District 5840).  There the Guadalupe River rose over 30 feet—well above its major flood stage—resulting in tragic loss of life and severe damage. Kerrville is home to two Rotary Clubs in District 5840.  We in District 6970 are committed to standing with District 5840 and the community as they undergo immediate disaster relief and begin the long road to recovery.  District 5840 is working hand-in-hand with the Rotary Clubs of Kerrville, who will guide efforts on how best to direct support and when it will be safe for volunteers to mobilize.

FOR DONATIONS TO IMMEDIATE RECOVERY EFFORTS:

We have been in direct contact with District Governor Craig Hardy who informs that the scope of the disaster so large and severe that immediate disaster recovery aid is being provided through Disaster Aid USA which is structured and equipped to provide immediate and comprehensive Texas disaster relief services, including:

  • Debris Removal: Clearing fallen trees and wreckage to ensure safe access for residents and emergency services.
  • Mucking and Gutting: Assisting homeowners in the removal of mud, water, and damaged materials from their homes to prevent further deterioration.
  • Tarping Roofs: Providing temporary roofing solutions to protect homes from additional weather damage.
  • PODs, Supplies: Setup and manage Points of Distributions for emergency supplies and aid.

To fund this immediate relief effort, Disaster Aid USA has set up a special fund for District 5840 relief dedicated solely to immediate Texas relief efforts.  You can donate to that fund through this link:  https://disasteraidusa.net-workforgood.com/projects/249980-texas-flooding  Support through this link is approved by our Rotary Zone33-34 and Texas Rotary District 5840. Donations are Tax deductible.

TO HELP SUPPORT LONGER TERM RECOVERY:

Rotary District 5840 is now accepting tax-deductible donations through its 501(c)(3) Foundation to support urgent disaster relief efforts following the devastating flooding in Kerrville and nearby areas.  Donations are tax deductible.

Your generous contribution will:

  • Provide relief to affected families
  • Support local Rotarians in cleanup and rebuilding efforts

We are and will continue working hand-in-hand with the Rotary Clubs of Kerrville.
